Welcome home

You don’t have to have it all together to walk through the door.

This church started in 2009, in the living room of Pastor Petelo and Lucy Lavea’s house here in Hacienda Heights. Over fifteen years later it is still going — now led by their oldest son, Sr. Pastor Peter Lavea, and his wife Faaea.

Sunday morning is unhurried: worship, the Word taught plainly, and time afterwards to actually talk to one another. Midweek we meet on Zoom so that a long commute, a late shift or living three states away doesn’t keep anyone from the table.

Worship & Band

Teaching the next generation of worshippers

Worship is the heartbeat of this church. Both our senior and assistant pastors came up through the choir and the worship team, and they are still at it - raising the next generation of worshippers rather than keeping the microphone to themselves. The band rehearses on Friday evenings and new singers and musicians are genuinely welcome. Please contact Pastor Peter on (310) 418-3571 before you come along, so we know to expect you.

Sunday School

The Word, at every age

Sunday School runs alongside the morning service, with classes by age. Several times a year the classes come together for a combined Sunday School service — everyone in one room, learning together.

Children's Ministry

Our children, praying out loud

Every Wednesday evening our children gather on Zoom for their own prayer night. It is their time - they pray out loud, they pray for each other, and they learn that God hears them just as clearly as He hears the grown-ups in the next room. Children are also welcome in the Sunday service. We are not precious about noise.

Youth Ministry

Faith that holds up in the real world

Our young people get their own space — games nights, real questions taken seriously, and friendships that hold each other up during the week. Youth Games are announced on the calendar. Bring a friend.

Sisters in Christ

Women of FOFM, together

Sisters in Christ is the women's ministry of Fight of Faith Ministries — fellowship, prayer, food and honest encouragement between women walking the same road. The women meet on Zoom for their own ministry night, and gather in person through the year including the Galentine's Fellowship.
