About us
Our mission is to keep Fighting the good fight of Faith by loving on and serving people. Our goal is to develop new disciples, and strengthening their relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Fight of Faith Ministries was founded in 2009 under Pastor Petelo and Lucy Lavea, here in Hacienda Heights, California. FOFM began holding services in the living room of Pastor Lavea’s house, and has changed locations through the years.
Today the church is housed at the Hacienda Heights Congregational Church — just down the street from the founder’s house where it all started.
The ministry is now led by the founder’s oldest son, Sr. Pastor Peter Lavea, alongside his wife Faaea Lavea. The church leadership also includes Assistant Pastor David Meni and his wife Rosalia Meni.
Over fifteen years since it began, FOFM is still thriving — meeting in person on Sunday mornings, studying the Word on Wednesday evenings over Zoom, and streaming services online for the family who cannot be in the room.
Your first visit
Sunday morning runs 9:00 to 11:00 — worship, the Word, prayer, and time afterwards to actually talk to one another.
We are housed at the Hacienda Heights Congregational Church on Los Altos Drive. Come a few minutes early and somebody will show you around.
Little ones are welcome in the room — we are not precious about noise. On Wednesdays the children have their own prayer night on Zoom.
There is no dress code and no pressure. Many of our family are Samoan, and everybody is welcome at this table.

Founding Pastors
In 1985 my husband decided to end his career in the military and received the Lord in his life. We both decided to move to Tacoma, Washington to find faith in God and ministry and a new beginning for our family of 5, and then moved to Kent, Washington and started a new church and a growing family of 13. We have 4 sons and 7 daughters. God has blessed our family and ministry tremendously. Ministry and family are our joy and love. God bless you all.
Senior Pastors
Peter and Faaea were married in 2010 and have been serving in ministry their whole lives. Both of them started in the choir and worship team at a young age and are teaching the next generation of worshippers. They were Assistant Pastors for 12 years before recently being ordained as Senior Pastors for Fight of Faith Ministries in February 2024. Their passion is to raise Kingdom leaders and to build relationships in their ministry and community.
Assistant Pastors
Dave and Lia married in 2008 and have 4 children - Naia, DJ, Mercy and Laa. They have a heart to praise God on the worship team and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. After serving as deacons and lay preachers for 10 years at Fight of Faith Ministries, they became the assistant pastors under senior pastors Pati and Iyah Lavea. They aim to grow the ministry and raise up the next generation of leaders.
